Blue silica gel possesses the moisture-adsorbing and anti-dampness properties of fine-pore silica gel. Its characteristic is that during the moisture absorption process, it changes color to purple as the moisture content increases, and then turns light red. It can indicate environmental humidity and visually show whether it is necessary to replace the silica gel with a new one or regenerate it for reuse.

Blue silica gel can be used alone for moisture absorption. Due to its color-changing feature, it is often used in combination with ordinary silica gel desiccants to indicate the moisture absorption level of the desiccant, thereby determining the relative humidity of the environment.

Blue silica gel is widely used for moisture protection in the packaging of precision instruments, leather goods, clothing, food, and household appliances.
